Variators – RH Series
The P.I.V. gear system RH has been developed with a view to transmitting very high capacities by means of infinitely variable gears of the smallest possible dimensions.
Like all other well-known and proved P.I.V. drives it is an all-steel chain drive using a link chain as a power transmitting element.
The pressing forces between the conical wheelfaces and the chain necessary for power transmission are produced by the torque at the input and output shaft by means of pressing devices, and increased by pressure oil. At the same time, this oil serves for the lubrication of the moving gear parts as well as for adjusting the output speed desired.
The gear is delivered as a complete driving unit in an oil-proof cast-iron casing, or as a built-in unit without casing.
